I've taken my sweet time in preparing to begin writing about the NBA. Much of my time has been monopolized here.
While I could talk about the resurgence of the Raptors, the new-look rockets, the defensive Suns, the dominant Lakers or the powerful Hornets, I've decided to wait on that. Today, we'll talk about the all-bruiser team.
Brandon Bass
This third year pro is Dallas toughest player. He's listed at 6'8" and 240, even though that first number is probably high, and the second one is definitely low. Take a look at his wrecking power here.
Leon Powe
Powe has been a monster for the Celtics. In limited minutes, he provides scoring, rebounding and big time toughness for Boston, as well as effective relief for the reigning defensive player of the year, KG. Few people enjoying battling a man for a rebound who's name is literally one "R" away from power. Take a look.
Paul Millsap
Entering his third year in the league, Millsap is beginning to show why you always, always draft the college kids who rebound like crazy. Having led the NCAA in rebounding despite being only 6'8", Millsap has shown glimpses of the numbers and toughness that he can create when he goes to work inside. Look out below.
Kenyon Martin
K-Mart was an all-star at one point, but two microfracture knee surgeries later, some had written him off as broken. Martin has shown that he still has what it takes to be a premiere defender in the NBA, as well as an intimidating presence on offense and defense. He is a beast.
Jermaine O'Neal
Like Martin, Jermaine O'Neal had been written off by many fans as too fragile. But he has shown that when he's healthy, very few big men want to bring their game into the paint against him. He's been in the league for ten years, but he's still only 29. See him here.
